Winter-Sowing Workshop

  • Daniel Boone Native Gardens 651 Horn in the West Drive Boone, NC, 28607 United States (map)

Join us to learn how to use the winter-sowing method to grow native plants!

This is an easy, low-cost method of propagation for native perennials that require cold stratification: just sow your seeds in a container, set outside, and monitor the moisture. Seeds are protected from critters and harsh weather, naturally germinate at the correct time, and require no hardening off.

We will prepare one container during the workshop. Take what you learn and grow more on your own!

Soil, tools, and some seeds will be provided. Cost: $5 per person for supplies.

Please bring one translucent plastic container, such as a gallon milk jug.
