Volunteer at the gardens

Keeping Daniel Boone Native Gardens looking its best is a huge job. As a nonprofit organization, we are grateful for the support of our dedicated volunteers. We have many ways for you to get involved.

Adopt-a-Bed program: We are kicking off a new way for our community to be involved in the Gardens: an Adopt-a-Bed program! Come tour the Gardens with the Director to learn which areas are ready for adoption. Once you choose a bed, you can either get started right away or choose to work with one of our gardeners until you feel comfortable working on your own. We expect that maintaining a bed may be a weekly commitment of 1-2 hours, depending on the size of the area and whether you bring family or friends. Turn it into a social morning!

What you get: First, the satisfaction of knowing that YOU help make Daniel Boone Native Gardens beautiful and give this gift to your community. Also, we will be doing shoutouts on our website, in our email newsletter, and on social media if you would like to take a bow.

Volunteer workdays: Join us each Tuesday morning for workdays guided by Gardens staff! Learn about native plants, make new friends, and support your community. Tools will be provided or you can bring your own. Please bring water and dress for the weather. Meet at the gatehouse at 9 or drop in whenever you are able, until noon. Thank you for your support!
